CEO Update

Spring has sprung up here in the Adelaide Hills, but it is hard to tell with all this wintery weather still around. We are now in the final push towards the end of the year and at this stage, it is predicted that we will have placed a total of 30 Hearing Dogs throughout 2022 by the end of December!

However, our work is not done yet; there is still a lot more to do this year. Just recently, we were welcomed with the pitter patter of tiny puppy feet in the Training Centre, this plus the placement of our very first Medical Alert Dog here in South Australia!

Planning for 2023 has already begun and though our expansion has been delayed slightly, we won’t let that sway us. Instead, we will hold our annual Open Day, which has been scheduled for the 15th of April, just before National Hearing Dog Day. Look for more information in the coming months around both Open Day and our Recipient Training Day, which will be planned for the day before Open Day.

The Training Centre will be closing throughout the upcoming holiday season, although we will have people onsite to look after all of our dogs. The office will be closed from COB on the 23rd of December, reopening on the 3rd of January. Our emergency phone will still be active throughout this time if anything urgent occurs and require immediate attention.

Thank you for your support and interest of ALHD through 2022. Happy and safe holidays to you all.
