Honour John’s memory

Australian Lions Hearing Dogs is incredibly grateful to receive donations in memory of PDG John (JJ) Kessner, District Governor of 201 V2 1983-84, who passed away Tuesday 1 June 2021.

JJ was a dedicated and inspired Member of the Lions Community, initially joining Lions Club of Altona back in November 1974, and onto Werribee Lions in the 2000’s. JJ was always an active serving Lion, and particularly passionate about sight and hearing projects. JJ was awarded as a Life Member of Lions Clubs International in 2009 as well as a Melvin Jones Fellowship.

JJ was also involved in the Lions V2-V1-4  Sight and Hearing Conservation Foundation, and it was during his Chairmanship that he formed a great relationship with Professor Graeme Clark (inventor of the Bionic Ear). It can be said that is was through the efforts of JJ obtaining a $25,000 grant, that the project was able to continue and be the success it is today, so he really ensured the project’s success.

Sympathy is extended to JJ’s wife Dorothy and children Susan, John, Karen and their extended families.

If you would like to make a donation in JJ’s memory, please do so using the form on your right, or by completing this downloadable form to mail or email directly to ALHD. With each donor’s permission, we will provide a summary of those who have donated towards John’s memory back to his daughter, Susan. All donations over $2.00 are eligible for tax deduction.
